Killarney Provincial Park, the jewel of Ontario's wilderness parks, is accessible via Highway 637, Highway 6 at Charlton Lake near Willisville or Lake Panache via Road 10. The stunning La Cloche Mountains contain lakes that are famous for their azure colour and clarity. Some are so lucid that their bottoms can be seen many fathoms below. Hiking trails provide access to interior lakes and ethereal, quartz ridges with panoramic vistas from the Silhouette Trail and Silver Peak, the highest point in the park. Backcountry campsites are limited and must be reserved in advance. Paddlers entering the park can obtain rental canoes, kayaks and camping gear from local outfitters. George Lake Campground, at the park headquarters, has drive-in sites, washrooms, a visitor centre and a solar powered recharging system for electronic devices. A bike path follows Chikanishing Creek.
The Friends of Killarney Park presents its Summer Concert Series at the amphitheatre, and weekly Night Sky Program at the fully equipped astronomy observatory. The park's dark sky reserve makes star gazing truly amazing! Art in the Park painting program enables visitors to hone their artistic appreciation of the landscape through professional art classes.
