Kincardine Tourism

Ceud Mile Failte – A hundred thousand welcomes from the Municipality of Kincardine!

In this community deeply rooted to Scottish Heritage and Culture, you’ll delight to the sights and sounds of Scotland…in Ontario! March with the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, as they parade Queen Street EVERY Saturday evening throughout the summer, a ‘must-do’ while visiting! Not visiting on a weekend? Be sure to take in one of our breathtaking Lake Huron sunsets, and listen to the tranquil sounds of the Phantom Piper who lulls the sun to sleep from atop the Kincardine Lighthouse & Museum, a local and historic landmark. The Phantom Piper is a nightly feature in July & August, with the exception of Saturday evenings.
This is just a taste, and with many other events celebrating this unique heritage, you won’t want to forget your kilt…because in Kincardine, pants are always optional! Had your fill of the bagpipes? Worry not! With a lengthy list of to-do’s you won’t know where to start next.

A Four-Season haven, the Municipality of Kincardine is home to a multitude of activities whether seeking the sun, the snow, or simply just enjoying new seasonal colours! We boast a top notch multi-use Trail System, connecting over 15 km of trails navigable via foot, bike, snowshoe, cross country ski – as long as it’s non-motorized, consider it acceptable. Trail maps are available at the Visitor Information Centre, at the trail entrances or online via Google Maps if hitting the trails with your smart phone. Winter enthusiasts can also take in groomed Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe trails at the Stoney Island Conservation Area, just 5 km north of Kincardine along the shoreline, or pick up a copy of our local District 9 Snowmobile trails and enjoy the diverse terrain in our region.

Contrary to popular belief, the winter won’t last forever and the beach beckons! With over 30 km of shoreline, beach and water sport enthusiasts are sure to find one that pleases. Try your hand at SUP (Stand Up Paddle Boarding) with local rentals, wax up those surfboards or kiteboards thanks to the steady winds off Lake Huron. Boaters can enjoy the lovely harbour with marina services and tidy recreation facilities. Or simply grab a chair and that book that you’ve been meaning to start - kick back, relax and enjoy, because after all, you’re on vacation!

With no shortage of Festivals and Events held annually, the Municipality of Kincardine is fortunate to be host to such a diverse roster of happenings. Whether a multi-day festival or single day event, we’re certain that you’ll want to take it all in during your time with us. For a full listing of events, you’ll want to visit www.kincardine.ca or follow us on Facebook/Twitter for daily updates and information about all local goings on.
