The Mindemoya Market is the place to be on Saturday mornings! With a variety of live music and a café it’s more like a mini-festival, but there are lots of vendors too, most with products they have grown or made by hand themselves. Local gardeners bring their vegetables in season, from asparagus in the spring to pumpkins in the fall, with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and onions in between, not to mention their jams, jellies and hot sauce. The café features scrumptious cakes, and our bakers bring delicious donuts, pies, fudge and other baking. Check out the photography, the visual arts, handmade jewellery, pottery, afghans, sweaters, lazy susans, birdhouses, wooden children’s toys – a lot for a rural market! Variety is key. We often have free children’s activities or local interest groups such as the Central Manitoulin Historical Society, and special events such as demonstrations of spinning and weaving.
Look for the Manitoulin Official Brand. Several of our vendors carry it, and it’s your assurance that the products you buy are made right here. Come to the market, and make it a regular part of your Saturday mornings on Manitoulin!
