Port Carling Wall & Boat Locks

Port Carling overlooks the boat locks between Lake Rosseau and Lake Muskoka where heritage steam ships Segwun and Wenonah II cruise through the channels. Bridge lifts are a regular occurrence when the ships move through the locks, providing a good photo opportunity for people who like to watch big machinery in action. Sunset Cruises' Peerless II gives sightseeing, sunset and dinner cruises from Port Carling locks and the classic wooden yacht Idyllwood provides intimate tours for groups up to 12 passengers to the most scenic nooks of the Muskoka Lakes.

The Port Carling Wall is the world's largest historical, photo-mosaic mural that depicts an overall picture of a steamship made up of thousands of individual photos, each one of which shows rare glimpses of the village's heritage. The adjoining Bartleman Island Park and the Muskoka Lakes Museum provide historical displays as well as lovely locations to picnic and view elegant boats navigate the locks.
